The Westfield Management Trio
They
work as a team, as a trinity, so it only seems right to talk about them in the
same manor.
Three players with a wealth of non-league experience. One striker, one midfielder, one defender. One optimist, one pessimist, one realist. One sensible, one juvenile, one to the point. Three men with a wealth of knowledge. Three jokers, three footballers, three guys with a shared love of the game and more importantly of this team.
Three big characters, three close friends but one solid unit with a common and unified vision for this club. No leader, no figurehead just three thinkers, three tacticians, three winners and majority rules.

The Ethos
Our coaching
philosophy is simple; to improve every individual player that we work with and help
develop their all round game. We aim to provide knowledge and understanding of
the game to all our players and create a safe and fun environment for football
to be played in. We aim to take young players and teach them to never hide, to
not be scared of responsibility and to never be afraid to ‘play’.
It is our belief that Westfield FC should offer the best local youngsters a chance to play senior football and give them the tools and experience required to move on to bigger and better things at a higher level within the footballing pyramid. It's a simple game complicate by fools and it's there to be enjoyed. This is our ethos.

Tony 'Baldy' Harris
Duncan 'Beaky' Jones
Matt Ball
John 'Dutch' Holland - Physio
The busiest man at the club
last season. To have a physio of the standard of John at the club is simply
priceless. He goes above and beyond for the club and a nicer guy you are not
likely to meet. Sadly he is irritatingly good at the crease and as a
consequence we lose him for a small portion of the year due to his
‘Bradman-esc’ cricketing exploits. Stupid game.
Steve Smithers - Goalkeeping Coach
To have a physio of Dutch’s quality and a goalkeeping
coach with Smither’s experience is a testament to the way Tone, Dunc and Matt
like to do things. And the benefits are there for all to see. Steve is ex-Ryman
league goalkeeper himself with a wealth of non-league experience. He’s the self
appointed club comedian and the man to always lighten the mood when needed. If
you need evidence of his coaching credentials then look no further than Matt
Crutwell whom Smither’s has had under his wing for many years. And from we can
see there’s more on the production line.
Mason Ponti - Reserve Team Manager
PONTI!!!! The man with arguably the toughest job at the
club. Being a reserve team manager is a thankless task but it’s the key to the
success of the squad. They’re not there to win trophies (although it would be
nice), they’re there to support the front XI, to take good young talent,
nurture them and feed them through into the first team. A reserve team manager
can gauge his success by how many players he’s feed through. How good is Ponti?
Well...Ross Williams, Harley Descarla, Jack Davies, Sam Winter, Tom Watson,
Jamie Ellis, Khaya...Mosty still 16, all of them under 18 and all have had experience with the front side
this season. And this after having to pick things up midway through the campaign.
Never underestimate his importance to what you see happening at Westfield.
